30 September – SISFU School of Hospitality Management (SOHM) students attended the 3rd International Tourism and Hospitality Conference (ITHC) and the 4th International Creative Design Conference (ICDC), spearheaded by the Tket Project Travel Studio.
Delegates from many tourism and hospitality management schools were present at the event. The students engaged in the prepared discussions and activities.
Among the many attendees was Ms. Gina Lopez, former Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. Owen Cantillas, President of Southville’s Council of Hospitality Management Students (SOCOHMS), secured a meeting with Ms. Lopez. She is a notable figure and an advocate for the environment. SOCOHMS was able to discuss their willingness to collaborate on sustainability projects for the environment.
At SISFU, we encourage students to participate and engage in extra-curricular activities. Even more so, we give them opportunities to lead/spearhead their own. This is to expose them to a diverse range of interests to explore. Apart from that, we believe that this also serves as a training ground for them to practice personal management and team-building.
